I am pleased to announce that the next update to the popular application, (IM) Tutorials, has been released. It is now at version 1.0.2. In this version, I have fixed the following bugs:

In addition, the following new features have been added:

  • Support Topic prefix/suffix per category
  • Support Topic state per category (open/close/pin/etc.)
  • Delete the support topic when article is deleted, with setting for this per-category
  • Setting to make description a required field per-category

This new version has been delivered to all existing customers, and new customers will get this version once their order is approved.

Just as a heads up, I've done some reorganizing to the planned features list, so check it out and add your own suggestions for what you'd like to see. Assuming nothing huge comes out of this current release, I'll work on trying to implement a few more features for another release of this prior to IP.Board 3.1 being released. Once it is released, you can expect another new release of this to support some of the functionality made available in that version.

As always, be sure to post in the support topic if you need help with the application, or post in the bug tracker if you find a bug in the product. :)

It will take me some time to put that list together. WinMerge is not so great at comparing the XML files since they seem to get the bits put into a different order in each version of this app.

Hey, nevermind. Just remembered the Martin's tool to compare lang files!

Add:

On tutorials_admin_categories.php:

'topic_pinned' => "Create Topic Pinned?",
'pinned_blurb' => "Choose 'No' if you don't want the topic to be pinned",
'delete_topics' => "Automatically delete topics when files are deleted?",
'support_topics' => "Support Topics",
'category_desc_required' => "Make the Description required?",
'topic_suffix' => "Topic Suffix",
'open_blurb' => "Choose 'No' if you want the topic created to be Closed",
'category_blurb' => "Use {catname} for the category name",
'topic_open' => "Create Topic Open?",
'topic_prefix' => "Topic Prefix",

On tutorials_admin_external.php:

'rebuild_comments' => "Tutorials Comments",
'rebuild_articles' => "Tutorials Articles",

On tutorials_public_post.php:

'description_required' => "This category requires descriptions for its articles.",

Now it's just update the files from 1.0.1 and the translation is done!

;)

EDIT:

'delete_topics' => "Automatically delete topics when files are deleted?",

Guess you used the Downloads text. Should be:

'delete_topics' => "Automatically delete topics when articles are deleted?",

Great work, Michael! :)

Just one problem I've run into when opening the zip file:

! C:\Jan2010\ipb3\mods\tutorials102\(IM) Tutorials 1.0.2.zip: CRC CRC in (IM) Tutorials 1.0.2\upload\admin\applications_addon\other\tutorials\modules_public\display\article.php. The file is damaged
! C:\Jan2010\ipb3\mods\tutorials102\(IM) Tutorials 1.0.2.zip: The file is damaged.

And then article.php isn't there.

I use the latest version of winrar. I've tried it a couple of times and the error pops up again.

i don't have any problem opening it in WinRAR, or WinZip, and no one else has mentioned a similar problem. Is that one file the only one you don't have? I can send it to you if you need it.

It's weird because I've tried another program and it gives me an error also, but the odd thing is it unzips only 1 file in the display dir, article.php! yet, winrar unzips several files in that dir, but not article.php! (so I'm not really sure if there's any file missing)
The original zipped file which you attached to the message says it's 191.43ks (although when I downloaded it, my file explorer says it's 196.07ks). So I´m not sure...
Could you just send me the file again by email? (chessnia@gmail.com)

Sorry for the trouble.

On its way to you now.

I did have to rebuild the zip and re-attach it to peoples messages, maybe something in that corrupted it for you? Or maybe I didn't properly get your copy of the file changed out? Not sure.
